Package: usb-modeswitch Version: 1.0.7-1 Severity: wishlist I wanted to set up a laptop running lenny to be able to use a usb mobile broadband connection. In order to do this, I had to install usb-modeswitch to have the device flip into modem mode when plugged in.
The version of usb-modeswitch in squeeze drops its udev rules in /lib/udev/rules.d, which lenny's udev does not appear to use. So I had to also upgrade udev to squeeze's version to get usb-modeswitch to function. It would be helpful if usb-modeswitch would depend on an appropriate version of udev; since squeeze currently contains such a version, 150-2 would be fine by me if you don't want to work out exactly which version first added support for /lib/udev/rules.d. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (530, 'testing'), (520, 'unstable'), (400, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages usb-modeswitch depends on: ii libc6 2.10.2-2 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-13 userspace USB programming library ii tcl 8.4.16-2 The Tool Command Language (default ii tcl8.4 [tclsh] 8.4.19-4 Tcl (the Tool Command Language) v8 ii tcl8.5 [tclsh] 8.5.8-2 Tcl (the Tool Command Language) v8 usb-modeswitch recommends no packages.
