Maybe the future Debian wwwoffle package should be pretty much the just the vanilla upstream version, of course with the Debian directory layout, and nice compile option choices (https).
wwwoffle-tools would be a separate package. Same with the search engine stuff, htdig, etc. Or they could just be a set of instructions in a README. Same with cronjob stuff.
