Package: python-dbus Version: 0.83.0-1+b1 Severity: normal I upgraded from 0.83.0-1 last night. This morning I rebooted and noticed wicd was not working; python could not load the dbus module.
Seemed python-support had somehow not registered it: j...@gnu:/var/lib/python-support>find py* | grep -i dbus python2.4/wicd/dbusmanager.py python2.4/wicd/dbusmanager.pyc python2.5/orca/dbusserver.py python2.5/orca/dbusserver.pyc python2.5/hamster/hamsterdbus.py python2.5/hamster/hamsterdbus.pyc python2.5/sonata/dbus_plugin.py python2.5/sonata/dbus_plugin.pyc python2.5/wicd/dbusmanager.py python2.5/wicd/dbusmanager.pyc python2.5/wicd/dbusmanager.pyo python2.5/quodlibet/qltk/dbus_.py python2.5/quodlibet/qltk/dbus_.pyc python2.6/sonata/dbus_plugin.py python2.6/sonata/dbus_plugin.pyc python2.6/wicd/dbusmanager.py python2.6/wicd/dbusmanager.pyc python2.6/orca/dbusserver.py python2.6/orca/dbusserver.pyc j...@gnu:/var/lib/python-support> I purged, reinstalled, and dbus directories showed up there, problem solved. NB: This laptop was just converted to btrfs (via fresh format and copying over the previous content), so it's possible btrfs is eating data. It seems unlikely to me that it would choose to just eat all the python support files for python-dbus, for both python 2.5 and python 2.6, and leave other files that were modified at the same time alone, though. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.31-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages python-dbus depends on: ii libc6 2.10.2-5 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.16-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.82-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libglib2.0-0 2.22.4-1 The GLib library of C routines ii python 2.5.4-9 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-support 1.0.6 automated rebuilding support for P Versions of packages python-dbus recommends: ii python-gobject 2.20.0-1+b1 Python bindings for the GObject li Versions of packages python-dbus suggests: pn python-dbus-dbg <none> (no description available) pn python-dbus-doc <none> (no description available) -- debconf-show failed -- see shy jo
