Thanks for reporting.  The error message was in fact generated, but at a
'verbose' instead of 'error' priority.  You could have seen it, if
invoking debtags with the --verbose switch.  Not very useful :)
Now it's fixed.

While I'm here, I suggest you to focus on adding tags that are part of a
proper facet (that is, they begin with "something::").  They are more
well defined, and they are better suited in describing the packages.
The nonfaceted tags are remains from the past, often they are too vague
and they are slowly being migrated to the faceted alternatives.
