There is now a newer upstream (2010.1.16) which fixes some important things.
http://www.tuxera.com/community/release-history/

I would like to add my voice to those petitioning for 2009.11.14 or
2010.1.16 to get into testing ASAP. In or lab we routinely do large
transfers of many >10-20gb files from machines whose data-acquisition
software unfortunately must run on proprietary operating systems.
2009.4.4 is just unusably slow on full or fragmented filesystems.
Upgrading all of our data-analysis machines to 2009.11.14 has been
somewhat of an inconvenience (although it solves all our performance
issues), and I'm sure many users suffer similarly. Thanks for your
help!!

best,
stephan
