This definitely is an issue with the kernel.

I've bisected this problem to commit
f1a2a9b6189f9f5c27672d4d32fec9492c6486b2 (drm: Preserve SHMLBA bits in
hash key for _DRM_SHM mappings), during kernel 2.6.30 development
cycle.

Today's linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-mckinley delivered with Debian
"Squeeze" Testing updates still has this problem, and even yet an
other more severe one preventing DRI from working. This last issue has
been fixed by Bjorn Helgaas in kernel 2.6.33-rc4 (see
http://marc.info/?l=linux-ia64&m=126419878611433&w=2 for details).

At this time, I still don't have an answer about what to do now with
commit f1a2a9b6189f9f5c27672d4d32fec9492c6486b2. Simply reverting it?
Adding compiler directives to skip it on ia64?

Cheers,

     Émeric
