Hi, thanks for the bug report and your offer to do some testing!
Please run (g)vim from shell every time you expect the freeze so you can obtain any console messages. When vim freezes, hit Control-C. Then vim should behave normal again (if not try Control-L for redrawing the screen or Enter). A line number-file combination should be displayed where the execution was stopped. You can send me this debug information and I hope I can find the error. If you can reproduce the error more often, it would be interesting if the line number/file changes.
