This patch should fix your problem. Try it out and nag your Debian
maintainer for a backport if it works, or wait until next release of
XMMS2.

[22:39:49][_caotic_]: you can do a apt-get source xmms2, copy the file
to xmms2-0.6DrMattDestruction/debian/patches/fixes and add it to
          xmms2-0.6DrMattDestruction/debian/patches/series. Then you
do a 'dpkg-buildpackage -b -rfakeroot'
