Since this bus is now 2-month-old, I decided to go for a 10-day delayed
NMU (as per Developer's Reference ยง 5.11.1. "When and how to do an NMU",
http://www.debian.org/doc/developers-reference/pkgs.html#nmu-guidelines).
Then I found that Xpdf FTBFS because of lesstif patches:

  http://bugs.debian.org/458763

Since there is a discussion about Xpdf future in Debian, I stopped all
my work for the moment:

  http://bugs.debian.org/527840

However, before preparing the NMU, I checked the rdepends for
xpdf-reader, which are listed below, with the type of reverse
depencency.

1) Depends:
   a) xpdf-reader
        xpdf

Nothing to do, everything will continue to work given that xpdf also
   depends on xpdf-utils.

2) Recommends:
   a) xpdf-reader | pdf-viewer
        mpi-specs
        ebook-dev-alp
        wise-doc
        latexmk
        hmmer-doc
        auctex

   b) xpdf-reader
        whizzytex
        libinventor0

   c) gv | xpdf-reader | pdf-viewer
        docbook-xsl-doc-pdf

Everything will continue to work, since in these cases the
   recommendation is for viewing PDFs.

   d) poppler-utils | xpdf-reader
        impressive

impressive must change this to "poppler-utils | xpdf-utils", since it
   requires pdftoppm:

     http://bugs.debian.org/565799

3) Suggests:
   a) xpdf-reader | pdf-viewer
       xpdf-common
       xfig-doc
       texlive-base
       mc
       libtioga-ruby1.8

   b) xpdf-reader
        pycocuma

Everything will continue to work, since in these cases the suggestion
   is for viewing PDFs.

4) Conflicts: xpdf-reader (<< 1.00-4)
     libfreetype6

This is a very old conflicts which should not be necessary anymore.

5) Replaces: xpdf-reader
     poppler-utils

This must be fixed as soon as this bug is fixed:

     http://bugs.debian.org/558021

As you could read, the two cases which require attentions have been
properly marked in the BTS.

Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca
