Thanks for your report. It appears that the assumption in the linux-2.6
control file that architecture-specific Depends are supported is actually
wrong. dpkg-gencontrol silently discards such Depends (and Suggests)
line(s), resulting in this bug. As the control file is automatically
generated from templates, hopefully it will not be very hard to fix it...
