Package: oss4-base Version: 4.2-build2002-1 Severity: normal
There is something odd with the debian packaging of oss4. I had the original oss 4.1 packages which worked somehow. However, the debian packaging does not provide soundon/soundoff which are referenced in the oss configuration file for oss_hdaudio as well as the hibernation scripts. The oss-base init script does not even attempt to unload the modules on stop and they break permanently on suspend, reloading them does not help. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.3 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (500, 'testing'), (300, 'unstable'), (290, 'stable-i386'), (280, 'testing-i386'), (270, 'unstable-i386'), (1, 'experimental-i386'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-2-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages oss4-base depends on: ii libc6 2.10.2-2 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii linux-sound-base 1.0.17.dfsg-4 base package for ALSA and OSS soun oss4-base recommends no packages.
