Oh, this is strange.
However, wicd 1.7.0 is in sid now. Please install that one instead -- if you 
still have circular dependencies issues, please report a different bug: if 
it's true, then it's rather serious.

I'm not using GNOME, so I can't really tell.

I can provide you with a sample python code just showing a trayicon, if you 
wish.
