What is needed is someone skilled and adventurous enough to hack on the uw-imap code.
Help is much appreciated!Beware that the coding style of uw-imap is somewhat unusual so emphasize what code it is if you go out and search for skilled people for this.
As mentioned earlier in the bugreport an alternative route is to rewrite other code to avoid libc-client altogether.
