I've experimented with this bug on a Lenny box, and it does operate without crashing when gchempaint versions as low as 0.10.4-1 are backported while holding everything else stable. It's always annoying to close a bug without knowing just what the fix was, but the 0.8 -> 0.10 changeset is large enough to make that difficult. Any objections to marking this closed with 0.10.4-1?
