We need to either support both programs or drop the old portmap entirely
but like I say we need some sort of idea of where we're trying to get to
in order to do that.  Unfortunately the portmap/rpcbind maintainer isn't
talking and the general bugginess with which this has been handled so
far means it doesn't seem like a good idea to jump in without any
coordination since playing guessing games involves the risk of having to
repeatedly upload, or at worst cause disruption to users by needlessly
dragging them into this mess.
