I think it would be very beneficial to be able to extend exim's
incoming mail handling abilities by having it able to reject a
message based on
the results of an exernal program call.  This would allow the easy
addition of more agressive spam filters, virus checkers, and more.

Upstream development on exim 3 stopped over three years ago, and it is no
longer Debian's default MTA. The behaviour discussed in this bug report is
never going to change / be fixed in the Debian packages, so I'm tagging the
report to indicate that.

Fair enough.  Or just close it.  That's fine by me, too.
