OK JM> lxappearance - a new feature-rich GTK+ theme switcher is the most intuitive. And I picked "industrial" instead of the default (crux?). Be sure to tell those Firefox guys that only industrial has enough contrast to avoid workplace accidents.
And all is well. Except that now iceweasel and icewm (default theme) use exact opposite colors to indicate current vs. other windows!
