Package: grub-pc Version: 1.98~20100101-1 Severity: normal The system boots again. I ran "grub-install --recheck /dev/md0" from a livecd in chroot.
$ echo GET grub-pc/install_devices | sudo debconf-communicate 0 (hd0) The current debconf info changed, because i ran dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc. after booting the above is what was reported. The bios is set to boot from /dev/hdb (hd0). Currently it works to boot from the other drives aswell. -- Package-specific info: *********************** BEGIN /proc/mounts /dev/disk/by-uuid/8c8f0e2e-1510-46cd-a4e5-46ef37bc9bc6 / ext4 rw,noatime,errors=remount-ro,barrier=1,stripe=256,data=ordered 0 0 *********************** END /proc/mounts *********************** BEGIN /boot/grub/device.map (hd0) /dev/hdb (hd1) /dev/hde (hd2) /dev/hdg (hd3) /dev/sda *********************** END /boot/grub/device.map *********************** BEGIN /boot/grub/grub.cfg # # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE # # It is automatically generated by /usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig using templates # from /etc/grub.d and settings from /etc/default/grub # ### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/00_header ### set default=0 insmod raid insmod raid5rec insmod mdraid insmod ext2 set root=(md0) search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set 8c8f0e2e-1510-46cd-a4e5-46ef37bc9bc6 if loadfont /usr/share/grub/unicode.pf2 ; then set gfxmode=640x480 insmod gfxterm insmod vbe if terminal_output gfxterm ; then true ; else # For backward compatibility with versions of terminal.mod that don't # understand terminal_output terminal gfxterm fi fi set locale_dir=/boot/grub/locale set lang=en insmod gettext set timeout=5 ### END /etc/grub.d/00_header ### ### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/05_debian_theme ### set menu_color_normal=cyan/blue set menu_color_highlight=white/blue ### END /etc/grub.d/05_debian_theme ### ### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/10_linux ### menuentry "Debian GNU/Linux, with Linux 2.6.31.6-rt19" { insmod raid insmod raid5rec insmod mdraid insmod ext2 set root=(md0) search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set 8c8f0e2e-1510-46cd-a4e5-46ef37bc9bc6 linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31.6-rt19 root=UUID=8c8f0e2e-1510-46cd-a4e5-46ef37bc9bc6 ro quiet initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.31.6-rt19 } menuentry "Debian GNU/Linux, with Linux 2.6.31.6-rt19 (recovery mode)" { insmod raid insmod raid5rec insmod mdraid insmod ext2 set root=(md0) search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set 8c8f0e2e-1510-46cd-a4e5-46ef37bc9bc6 linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31.6-rt19 root=UUID=8c8f0e2e-1510-46cd-a4e5-46ef37bc9bc6 ro single initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.31.6-rt19 } menuentry "Debian GNU/Linux, with Linux 2.6.30-2-amd64" { insmod raid insmod raid5rec insmod mdraid insmod ext2 set root=(md0) search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set 8c8f0e2e-1510-46cd-a4e5-46ef37bc9bc6 linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.30-2-amd64 root=UUID=8c8f0e2e-1510-46cd-a4e5-46ef37bc9bc6 ro quiet initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.30-2-amd64 } menuentry "Debian GNU/Linux, with Linux 2.6.30-2-amd64 (recovery mode)" { insmod raid insmod raid5rec insmod mdraid insmod ext2 set root=(md0) search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set 8c8f0e2e-1510-46cd-a4e5-46ef37bc9bc6 linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.30-2-amd64 root=UUID=8c8f0e2e-1510-46cd-a4e5-46ef37bc9bc6 ro single initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.30-2-amd64 } ### END /etc/grub.d/10_linux ### ### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/20_memtest86+ ### menuentry "Memory test (memtest86+)" { insmod raid insmod raid5rec insmod mdraid insmod ext2 set root=(md0) search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set 8c8f0e2e-1510-46cd-a4e5-46ef37bc9bc6 linux16 /boot/memtest86+.bin } menuentry "Memory test (memtest86+, serial console 115200)" { insmod raid insmod raid5rec insmod mdraid insmod ext2 set root=(md0) search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set 8c8f0e2e-1510-46cd-a4e5-46ef37bc9bc6 linux16 /boot/memtest86+.bin console=ttyS0,115200n8 } ### END /etc/grub.d/20_memtest86+ ### ### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober ### ### END /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober ### ### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/40_custom ### # This file provides an easy way to add custom menu entries.
