Package: mtools
Version: 4.0.10-1

Reading the man page, one would think mlabel -vn a:
would just assign a random serial number.

It does, but at the same time **it wipes off the label**.

So we then use
# mlabel a:blabla
Which works, but that in turn wipes off the serial number.

The only way to proceed correctly is to set them both at the same time.
The man page should mention this. Or fix the bug.

P.S., we read

Mlabel displays the current volume label, if present. If
new_label is not given, and if neither the c nor the s options
are set, it prompts the user for a new volume label. To delete an
existing volume label, press return at the prompt.

Or ^C to get out alive... but wait, ^C doesn't work, as you are in raw
mode or something!

Also mention that the serial number or volume number is the "UUID".
