Package: unetbootin Version: 377-1 Severity: normal
The cdrom debian installer to be put is located here, http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0.3/i386/iso-cd/debian-503-i386-netinst.iso I tried unetbootin to make this pendrive, and it seems to be working, but not perfect. it hangs after the territory, saying that nothing into /cdrom is mounted. The pc says: your installation cdrom couldnt be mounted. this probably means that the cdrom was nto in the drive. if you can insert it, and ... again try again... So nothign works and Debian Stable cannot be installed using unetbootin. I tried with 5.x, 5.02 and today with 5.03. netinst and regular 750mb iso. Well if Debian is not working, I would recommand to put this unetbootin to SID , not testing. It doesnt work. btw, since unetbootin is not working: Without unetbootin, how should we do to make a pendrive iso-cd/debian-503-i386-netinst-like bootable? -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-2-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages unetbootin depends on: ii libc6 2.10.2-2 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.4.2-3 GCC support library ii libqt4-network 4:4.5.3-4 Qt 4 network module ii libqtcore4 4:4.5.3-4 Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4:4.5.3-4 Qt 4 GUI module ii libstdc++6 4.4.2-3 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii p7zip-full 4.58~dfsg.1-1 7z and 7za file archivers with hig ii syslinux 2:3.83+dfsg-3 utilities for the syslinux bootloa ii udev 146-5 /dev/ and hotplug management daemo Versions of packages unetbootin recommends: ii unetbootin-translations 377-1 translations for unetbootin distri unetbootin suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
