Hi, I've been seeing the same thing here on my system, pulseaudio eating 2-4% CPU (on a core duo) in idle, with no sound currently played or recorded. I tried killing the single attached output stream, via the alsa pulse plugin, from epiphany. This did not help. Quitting the browser however did help. It seems that the flash plugin kept pulseaudio busy. After this, pulseaudio idle CPU use fell to 0. So in my case, this might actually be a (yet another) bug in the flash plugin ...
