Hi,
I've been seeing the same thing here on my system, pulseaudio eating
2-4% CPU (on a core duo) in idle, with no sound currently played or
recorded.
I tried killing the single attached output stream, via the alsa pulse
plugin, from epiphany. This did not help.
Quitting the browser however did help. It seems that the flash plugin
kept pulseaudio busy. After this, pulseaudio idle CPU use fell to 0.
So in my case, this might actually be a (yet another) bug in the flash
plugin ...

Regards,
Erich
