Package: dovecot-common Version: 1:1.0.15-2.3+lenny1 Severity: normal The "hostname -f" command in the postinst will fail if /etc/hosts doesn't have a line such as "127.0.1.1 lenny-smtp.example.com lenny-smtp" (where the output of "hostname" is "lenny-smtp").
Generally everything should work without any /etc/hosts entries other than localhost. When /etc/mailname exists then it seems reasonable to make the following default: FQDN=`hostname`.`cat /etc/mailname` In any case, for an unsigned certificate as will be used in the vast majority of cases (the postinst doesn't create a CSR) it doesn't matter much if the name is wrong. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
