Ricardo, first of all, thanks for getting in touch with me.
I understand that sylpheed/3.0.0~beta4-1 (currently in unstable) also
includes the fix, doesn't it?

I would be happy to test it, but it won't be easy: among the POP3s
servers I use, the next that will have its certificate expired, will
see that happen on July 2010...  Unless its admins remember to renew it
in time, of course!

I'm afraid I will have to install and set up a POP3s server with a
short-life certificate, just to test that sylpheed is able to alert me
of the expired certificate.
Honestly, I don't know if I will find the time to do this (take into
account that I have little experience in installing and configuring POP
servers)...
