Here's a list of some of the packages which are removed when Tomboy --and thus--> Gnome is removed:
* update-manager and update-notifier * system-config-printer and hal-cups-utils (no more printing for you) * network-manager-gnome (you like dealing with networking options using a Gnome UI tool? no more of that) * gnome-volume-manager (no more nice handling and mounting of disk/usb/cd events for you) * gdebi (no more convenient installation of .deb-files for you) * policykit (no more nice handling of privileges for you and your software) So people are left with a _worthless_ screwed up "desktop". So, nah ... You can take your little "political debate" and shove it up your hostile, tight arses. Linux and its pathetic half-arsed "community" of retarded shiny-eyed gadget-kids making fun of people like RMS who (at the age of about 60 now) at least has a working GOD DAMN memory can fuck off at this point. I'm going to spend the day _purging_ all traces of the recently turned hostile and inflexible thing that is Debian from my systems. I'm considering Ubuntu which IIUC has Tomboy marked as a "weak link" `Recommends' instead of a "strong link" `Requires', and thus solves the problem neatly. I've also looked at Kubuntu even though I haven't used or tried KDE since the early 2.x days. ..anyway; good riddance to you people and your little "debate". -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
