It's temporary, but my point is that it can be used several times (see below). Also, that's why I've said that there could be an option for that. > > So, after scanning the networks, wicd should be able to show *all* > > ad-hoc networks stored in wireless-settings.conf (there could be an > > option for that). > > What kind of option do you have in mind? For instance, an option to decide whether non-visible ad-hoc networks should be shown or not. Alternatively, there could be a button or menu item (e.g. under "Network") to list all the ad-hoc networks. Well, something to be able to access what has been defined in the past. Here's my use of the ad-hoc network: I have a laptop and a Nokia N810, and I sometimes want to transfer data between them. I use wifi for that. In some cases, there's a wifi hotspot to which I can connect, and I can use it. But sometimes I need an ad-hoc network. And I use fixed ESSID, key and IP addresses in this case. -- Vincent Lefèvre <vinc...@vinc17.net> - Web: <http://www.vinc17.net/> 100% accessible validated (X)HTML - Blog: <http://www.vinc17.net/blog/> Work: CR INRIA - computer arithmetic / Arénaire project (LIP, ENS-Lyon) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
