Hi! I also ran into this problem, and not only downgrading to 6-16 does not fix it, I even downgraded to java5 to no avail...
However I've no idea what may be responsible for this problem - maybe the cause is iceweasel instead of java itself? Unfortunately cross-checking with Konqueror does not work as in most cases java does not work with Konqueror anyway... ;) Greetings, Gunter
