Where $host is the target system? That's the one I (or rather, Warzone 2100) wants (for popt, which needs _(s)random, and maybe its crash handler). That's the wrong one. If I put the libiberty.a from mingw32 into gcc-mingw32's /usr/i586-mingw32msvc/lib dir it works.
