This is weird, because not much happens after printing the message:

        help(udev, argc, argv);
        udev_selinux_exit(udev);
        udev_unref(udev);
        udev_log_close();

What happens if you do not modify the default udev.conf?

Please manually build the package, run the udevadm binary from the build
directory in gdb and get a stack trace with "where".
