Yes sorry, I saw that was ambiguous after I'd sent it, the "problem" I was referring to was exactly that this may happen "accidentally" in the future if we don't do this and the existing deps stop depending on expat. If the system lib didn't build on some arch, then neither would the embedded one, so we gain nothing of value by not insisting on the system one. The expat dep is just more recent than that of the other libs we force system use of, so it seems to have slipped under the radar until now. I've already talked to Ryan about it on #d-d and left a note about doing that in #560917 now (the same bug for wx2.8).
