I fully agree with Craig Sanders and Wladimir Mutel that logrotated
should dominate in log rotation, as I was very surprised that my changes
in /etc/logrotate.conf are not reflected in /var/log and then I've
started to look here and there until I found
/etc/cron.daily/sysklogd and /usr/sbin/syslogd-listfiles
I personally think, that syslogd package should create a list of log
files for rotation for logrotated, as other packages do (samba, apache,
proftpd).
