my SAS/SES-2 based array appears to support this:
.../sys/block/sda/device/enclosure_device:000$ grep . *

fault:0
locate:0
status:OK
type:array device
it would be nice if mdadm could automatically turn on the fault light of
an underlying block device when a component device fails.
