Heyho!

Multi-volume btrfs filesystems can't be mounted if "btrfsctl -a" is not called 
first.

Can you please include /etc/init.d/btrfs or similar that basically
 * looks in fstab if any btrfs fs is being used
 * runs btrfsctl -a if so.

A hook doing this in initrd would be even better to allow multi-volume btrfs 
as root device, but given that btrfs is experimental I guess this might have 
to wait... (since on a QNAP device, kernel & initrd are loaded from flash, I 
could do btrfs-on-root already without boorloader support, but OTOH I don't 
have a serial console so if anything goes wrong ...)
