Thanks for the report. I was already experiencing it on a -i386 vm but
still failed so far to trace the problem (mainly due to issues in
building debug packages here).
It sounds quite weird that it isn't present on -amd64, though.
Are your machines virtual ones too? Both arch's?

I'll give it another try in the next days, hoping to spot it, but in
the meantime any backtrace or pointer is appreciated.
