Hi Just,
I'd like to bring to your attention a problem I'm having with PHP's snmp
module which I don't know how to solve - I have no clue about snmp.
Apparently another user is having the exact same problem as outlined in
this bug: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=5;bug=558356
-- my symptoms are exactly the same.
This problem is probably related to things you're working on and either
partially or fully fixed in
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=557434
But upgrading today to the latest libsnmp-base did not help. I have
version 5.4.2.1~dfsg-4 installed.
I hope you can help shed some light on this.
This is in fact two bugs.
Bug one is one MIB missing in the distribution.
Bug two is a missing configuration for snmp to work without loading any MIBs.
Could you test creating /usr/snmp/snmp.conf and put this line into the file:
--------------------------------8<------------------------------------------
mibs :
--------------------------------8<------------------------------------------
Thanks,
Jochen
