Solving this properly is actually a bit tricky as the traceroute package
that shares its alternatives with traceroute-nanog doesn't suffer from the
root-only restriction these days, and it would be rather confusing to
handle the alternatives in /usr/sbin different from /usr/bin. I'm tempted
to sidestep this issue by letting traceroute supersede the nanog variant
for good, and simply drop the -nanog package from Debian. Daniel, what's
the status of the nanog emulation in traceroute proper these days? Are you
aware of any relevant features still missing?

Regards,

Daniel.
