Package: sox
Version: 14.3.0-1.1
Severity: normal

Hi,

Indeed, the result is 75% CPU usage with default play of ANY file
(ogg, wav, flac). With --single-thread option, CPU usage drops to a
more acceptable 5-6%, though that still seems a little inefficient.

5% CPU to play WAV or Flac
 6% CPU to play Ogg

output is through alsa driver.

IMHO, multi-threaded mode should be disabled until it is fixed.
