I have been having problems getting git to work, and eventually found that by changing the protocol in the inetd.conf file to "tcp4" it would start listening with the tcp(ipv4) protocol. The man pages say nothing of this - implying that the protocol should be one in /etc/protocols - yet tcp4 is not an entry in that file. I found the trick by googling - where this issue is mentioned in the the ubuntu bug repository. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
