Package: cdparanoia Version: 3.10.2+debian-8 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
Hi, I found that cdparanoia no longer works now: run a complete analysis: $ cdparanoia -A cdparanoia III release 10.2 (September 11, 2008) Using cdda library version: 10.2 Using paranoia library version: 10.2 Checking /dev/cdrom for cdrom... Testing /dev/cdrom for SCSI/MMC interface SG_IO device: /dev/sr0 CDROM model sensed sensed: SONY CD-RW CRX195E1 ZYS5 Checking for SCSI emulation... Drive is ATAPI (using SG_IO host adaptor emulation) Checking for MMC style command set... Drive is MMC style DMA scatter/gather table entries: 1 table entry size: 131072 bytes maximum theoretical transfer: 55 sectors Setting default read size to 27 sectors (63504 bytes). Verifying CDDA command set... Expected command set reads OK. Attempting to set cdrom to full speed... drive returned OK. =================== Checking drive cache/timing behavior =================== No audio on disc; Cannot determine timing behavior... It says "no audio on disc", but there is one. Running cdparanoia -vsQ will give only track 0 with 00:00:00 length. If rip with cdparanoia 0 will get loads of: scsi_read error: sector=-2 length=1 retry=7 Sense key: 5 ASC: 21 ASCQ: 0 Transport error: Illegal SCSI request (rejected by target) System error: Invalid argument scsi_read error: sector=-2 length=1 retry=8 Sense key: 5 ASC: 21 ASCQ: 0 Transport error: Illegal SCSI request (rejected by target) System error: Invalid argument (== PROGRESS == [ | ...... 00 ] == :^D o ==) ^C and only get a cdda.wav file of 44 bytes. For the record, I then installed icedax, and it worked just fine: $ icedax Type: ROM, Vendor 'SONY ' Model 'CD-RW CRX195E1 ' Revision 'ZYS5' MMC+CDDA 569344 bytes buffer memory requested, 4 buffers, 55 sectors #icedax version 1.1.9, real time sched., soundcard, libparanoia support AUDIOtrack pre-emphasis copy-permitted tracktype channels 1-19 no no audio 2 Table of Contents: total tracks:19, (total time 54:35.65) 1.( 3:16.35), 2.( 2:54.43), 3.( 1:57.07), 4.( 3:43.38), 5.( 3:43.70), 6.( 1:22.45), 7.( 1:34.07), 8.( 3:00.48), 9.( 3:07.70), 10.( 3:30.17), 11.( 2:31.20), 12.( 2:40.15), 13.( 1:41.53), 14.( 3:39.42), 15.( 1:23.73), 16.( 1:28.60), 17.( 4:10.07), 18.( 5:36.18), 19.( 3:12.72) Table of Contents: starting sectors 1.( 0), 2.( 14735), 3.( 27828), 4.( 36610), 5.( 53373), 6.( 70168), 7.( 76363), 8.( 83420), 9.( 96968), 10.( 111063), 11.( 126830), 12.( 138175), 13.( 150190), 14.( 157818), 15.( 174285), 16.( 180583), 17.( 187243), 18.( 206000), 19.( 231218), lead-out( 245690) CDINDEX discid: 7h_pORwV_F5SItxJ1X9x42TFxLw- CDDB discid: 0xfe0ccb13 CD-Text: not detected CD-Extra: not detected samplefile size will be 34656764 bytes. recording 196.4666 seconds stereo with 16 bits @ 44100.0 Hz ->'audio'... icedax: Operation not permitted. cannot set posix realtime scheduling policy percent_done: 100% track 1 recorded successfully Ops, just realized that the version that I've installed is v3.10.2+debian-8 from testing, not the v3.10.2+debian-9 from unstable.
