severity 505407 normal tags 505407 +moreinfo thanks I'm not surprised that using nice on the amdump call made no difference. I suggest you read the amanda.conf man page to see the various timeouts that are adjustable and what their defaults are, then try changing one or more of them in your amanda.conf file.
