It wont, since gcc on amd64 produces 64bit binaries by default without
any additional -m options.

As of my system with /lib64, I'm running 64bit kernel and 32bit userland
with _some_ 64bit applications, and most importantly I perform development
for 64bit (which is possible even on pure 32bits, thanks to -m64).
