Here’s the output from a recent upgrade: Setting up grub-common (1.97+20091125-1) ... Installing new version of config file /etc/grub.d/00_header ... Installing new version of config file /etc/grub.d/10_linux ... Installing new version of config file /etc/grub.d/30_os-prober ... Setting up grub-pc (1.97+20091125-1) ... grub-probe: error: cannot stat (null) Auto-detection of a filesystem module failed. Please specify the module with the option `--modules' explicitly. Generating grub.cfg ... I have not tried booting with the result; too scared. :) This is an x86 system, /boot is a normal directory in the root filesystem, and os-prober is not installed. Thoughts?
