It's good to see this progressing as I was unpleasantly surprised to discover that packages like wordpress still don't do sensible things when it comes to setting themselves up. If I wanted to download and extract the tar file that's what I'd have done - by installing a package I expect that things will work without my having to drop to a command line and edit arcane configuration files.
The main thing is that it should be possible to install a package and access it immediately at http://localhost/<package>. Sam
