Some remarks about your patch: - The best way to contribute is to send patches against current packaging, be it against the latest versions in the archive, or against the current git repository. “debcheckout $pkg” is your friend to fetch it if it was declared through Vcs-* headers. - I've used dh_compress -Xexamples/ instead of -X.py, to make it explicit I want to exclude this whole directory. - I disapprove of README.source for a quilt-using package.
