libasio-dev is already a build-dep. I reproduced this on a lenny system, and found out that you really are suffering from #514076. While adding libboost-date-time-dev as a dependency would be one possibility, I'd prefer the cleaner solution of requiring libasio-dev (>= 1.4.1-1). Do you have objections to that?
