Using apt-get upgrade and only upgrading dovecot-imapd let to an interesting reaction: The daemon was restarted in the postinst and got into an endless loop, starting more and more login processes (Why, BTW?). This lead to a load of 56 before I noticed the problem and found out that dovecot was the reason for the problem. As apt-get upgrade and afterwards checking out the packages held back by apt is relatively common, this could be a problem for many sid users.
