The xdvi man page recommends: \usepackage[dvips]{geometry} > However this has two negative side-effects: > 1) This setting takes precedence over the xdvi -paper option which in turn > breaks support for GPXDVIREF in gphelp. No, RTFM. :) Any of the above sizes may be preceded by a plus sign (`+'); this causes the paper size given here to override any paper size given in the dvi file. If gphelp needs to override the size given in the dvi file, then it must use a plus sign, otherwise it is broken. > 2) This setting take precedence over the dvips option '-t landscape' but > not over the option '-t a4' so doing > dvips -t landscape -t a4 doc/refcard.dvi produce a broken output. First, the user shouldn't need "-t landscape -t a4", so that this wouldn't be a problem. Moreover the user could still use the -T option, for which the man page says "It overrides any paper size special in the dvi file". And if the Debian package (and/or upstream tarball) provides the .ps file, then the user shouldn't need dvips at all. > Given that, I am not sure the advantage outweight the problem it creates. The most important point is that by default, it should work. Currently it doesn't always work. -- Vincent Lefèvre <vinc...@vinc17.net> - Web: <http://www.vinc17.net/> 100% accessible validated (X)HTML - Blog: <http://www.vinc17.net/blog/> Work: CR INRIA - computer arithmetic / Arénaire project (LIP, ENS-Lyon) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
