Package: xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-amd64 Version: 3.2.1-2 Severity: normal I have a dual-core host. I wanted to give one of my guests use of 2 vcpus and use of both real cpus.
I had the following in my config file for the guest: vcpus = 2 cpus = 0,1 This appeared to work correctly and I saw a big difference in the load average (the guest is monitored by munin-node). However after 12 hours or so, the guest simply stopped responding and froze. I saw nothing obvious in the sar system activity report, the xend log, the guest logs, guest syslog etc. It just froze at a localtime between 0647 and 0650 (if thats significant?). A quick Google found a few reports of the same issue but I did not go into more details. I reverted to the default of vcpu=1 and no trouble has been had. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.3 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-amd64 depends on no packages.
