Package: goobox
Version: 0.9.91-1
Severity: wishlist

It would be nice if the genre could be specified before ripping.
It should be possible to specify it once for the album, but to
overrride it on a per title basis (for collections of various artists, for
example: The greatest hits of 2005). Best would be, if it would be a
drop-down box with the possible contents (I vaguly remember to have
seen such lists), with the option "Other" which would unlock a field
to enter a custom value.

And if that list is i18n in a sane way, then goobox would be
really, really great! I don't know the best way, but I strongly suggest
keeping the name written to the audio file in english to allow for
automatic categorization. So the list would say: "Volksmusik" and
write "Folk" into the file. (This would not work for "Other", though).
Here some research how other rippers are doing this would be sinsible,
I believe.

Thinking along these lines, it would be worth considering storing the
"Other" values in some local file and offer them next time in the
pre-made list. But this again requires some thoughts about i18n.

Well, this is clearly a wishlist :-))
