Package: exim4 Version: 4.69-9 Followup-For: Bug #553503 I have been seeing this for a while, esp. when stress testing 2 new mailbox servers here. There seem to be no lost mails and the segfault below happened during a queue run (-q2m) on an pretty idle box, with no mails being delivered for hours beforehand. Which pretty much rules out corrupted database files. Seen this with both heavy and light deamon flavors. No problems on the remaining Etch machines. --- Nov 17 20:57:35 mb14 kernel: [2956900.869830] exim4[15676]: segfault at 7fff6f022504 ip 000000000041e95c sp 00007fff6f0224d0 error 6 in exim4[400000+c8000] ---
My architecture is as with the other 2 reporters amd64 (x86_64) on 2-8 core SMP machines, all running Lenny. I use custom kernels, predominantly 2.6.27.latest or 2.6.latest. However one decently busy machine running a 2.6.24.7 kernel NEVER exhibited this problem, leading me to suspect that there some interaction with a kernel feature after 2.6.24 and exim 4.69-9.
