My experience has been that when I do this I instead get lots of bug
reports from confused people wondering why X forwarding isn't working.
Note that the case where this really makes a difference is on the server
end, where you may well not have a full X installation but may
nevertheless need to forward one or two windows.

I don't see a way to avoid both sets of problems at once, and the other
one seems more numerous ...
